Is there any kind of a software package or feature that could be added toa website like Packardinfo.com that would automatically translate one written language to another??

Such a feature might attract many more participants world wide and greatly broaden our knowledge repository.

Since approx. 70% of the world’s population does not speak English adding multilingual capability to the site would make it easier for others to share information.

A list of the world's most spoken languages:
Chinese (937,132,000)
Spanish (332,000,000)
English (322,000,000)
Bengali (189,000,000)
Hindi/Urdu (182,000,000)
Arabic (174,950,000)
Portuguese (170,000,000)
Russian (170,000,000)
Japanese (125,000,000)
German (98,000,000)
French (79,572,000)

One option for reaching non-English speaking people:

Automatically translate your web pages

Enable visitors to read your content in their language

Here's a way for site visitors to see your Web pages in their own language, without having to go to a separate translation site.

Free translation widget

The majority of the people that can afford a packard are in the upperclass in most countries, and those people have usually a very good knowledge of the English language.

I believe that Google Translate has an API that can be used but, of course, it (or any translator) would work only on text but not on anything in images. A user can also just paste the URL of a page into Google Translate which would then take care of the text translation and should also translate the menus and anything else that is not an image. I run an international site for a '50s Peruvian singer and use Google Translate all the time, sometimes with amusing results but still usually understandable.

For example, a bit of the text in the image (after running it through OCR software that itself may have taken liberties) it gives:
