Looking at this '41 110 on eBay saw what looks like an "extra" horn in the engine compartment, see pic. The car has a pair of original type horns. So, is this a horn or something else?

That's interesting for sure. Since you mentioned this vehicle, I also noticed the underside if the hood is body color instead of black. Too, the sides under the hood are also colored. I thought these were originally black.

Still, a nice looking car!

I'd almost bet the horn is someone's "improvement". Classic Accessorieshttp://www.classicaccessories.org/ has 4 horns on their horn page that seem to fit that shape. One is labeled a Klaxon horn, another is labeled a cow or bull horn, a third is mid 30's Ford, and the 4th is labeled as early Pierce. I could see some young rake wanting a Klaxon or cow horn but no idea if Ford or Pierce had an interesting sound to their horns.

Howard, a Klaxon or cow/bull horn certainly makes sense. Likewise think Ford or Pierce horn sound to be an unlikely option.
