One of the best weather weeks for a National meet, this was on the tour to see the Packard mansion in New York.

We did a job in Jamestown and stayed over a few nights. My wife was surprised when I told her we took a figure 8 ride around Chautauqua Lake after work. Sounded wet to her.

Although Saturday dawned wet and therefore no vehicles on the grass, some stunning Packards showed and I was able to put faces to some names. Met "let the ride decide" on the show field and we were able to exchange some stories and get to know each other. Saw Ole Book, Ross Miller, Rod Hobbs and Bob Teller again and had an enjoyable dinner Friday night with this group. I know I'm leaving a couple of names out, but memory fails - can I blame old age? There was an absolutely perfect all-black 54 Caribbean on the show field.
Some examples of very early Packards and a very interesting low-end 50's Packard that was very correct and exact in its restoration, except for the finned head and dual Paxton superchargers! A truly outstanding job overall.
A sour note was that swap meet vendors were told to leave the Music Hall at noon. I will not venture a guess as to why, but perhaps Joel can fill us in on the details. Great cars and good people made it enjoyable despite the rain.
Ole and others can add some pictures.
Mr. Book did get an award for his meritorious service and dedication to the Packard automobile. Read about it in upcoming PAC publications.

Thanks Randy. I understand you also received an award - congratulations and don't be shy - let us know what award it was. There is some additional coverage of the Warren National here:

The Music hall was being used on Friday evening for a concert. All registered meet participants had a week to shop.

Randy is keeping his trophy a secret, but I will tell you.

My wife and I were sitting at his table on Saturday night when it was announced that Randy's car was selected by Tomorrow's Packard Owners (TPO) as their favorite post-war car.

I always like these type of people's choice awards as it keeps the playing field level.

Best of Luck to Randy!
