The "356" was the senior engine in 1950, used only in the Custom 8. The "288" was the junior-most engine and the 327 was the mid-range (Super and Super Deluxe) engine. In that era "senior" engines had 9 main bearings and your 327 has 5 mains, though later 327s used in "senior" 51-53 models (really, just the Patrician) had a 327 with 9 mains. If the choices of what to call your engine are limited to "junior" or "senior", then it's a junior but not the most junior.

Check the motor number stamped on the block and it will tell you if it is a 5 or 9 main bearing engine.
