49 model ID question

My mother-in-law found some old registration cards, for our car and also its apparent predecessor which was a 1949, which from the engine number (H219130) the model info section tells me is a Standard 8. The serial number on the registration cards is 1000A. Is there a good way to find out what the body number (style) is, and secondly is there a way to find out if the car still exists?

I had put this in the pre-war section, must have been thinking about the wrong war.

If the DMV doesn't have any current title listing for it, it's darn near impossible to find something you once owned unless you know who it was sold to and then trace them down sequentially.
