How much play or movement is acceptable on the ball joint on the cross tubes?

Is it ok, if you can move it side to side by hand with a little pressure?

If they are supposed to have no movement, Are they repairable?

to clarify, I dont have any slop or play, I can just move the pin by hand and not as stiff as a newer joint. What is excess on the packard?

Troy, I believe the back and forth play is not a good indicator of a worn joint. I would think the up and down slack would be a better indicator.
