Later exhaust manifolds

The manifold on my car is cracked. I have heard that 1940 and later 6 cylinder manifolds are better (i.e. less prone to cracking). Anyone have experience with that, and/or pictures of the newer manifold installed on a car? I want to see how different it looks. Thanks!

The exhaust manifold for 155C,1600,1700,1800 is the same part no.356729 which supersedes 315056-330777. I believe this shows that they must have made a better later one. The later manifolds eliminated each end stud. I would use all the later manifold hold downs as there is a difference, in how they hold it to the engine block.

So reviving an old post. What are the later hold downs like? I have brass nuts and washers on my car.

When I remove the two outermost studs, should I put some sort of plug in them? Thanks!
