Looks like a lovely car, despite a couple of irregularities under the hood. Also 1936 was the very last year for a factory-bodied phaeton - those few built after that were generally by either Rollson or Derham.

What a lovely car, indeed!

Any time I see a mid to late 30s phaeton or roadster for sale, I wonder why any were EVER made.

In my opinion, though lovely, they're wildly impractical. Especially in that time period, when roads were much better and speeds much higher than in earlier open-car eras.

Of course, such a vehicle would be MUCH more practical in, say, Australia.

Yet Mal, the only Aussie Packard-ist of my acquaintance, has a CLOSED Packard. Hmmmmm.....

The only other one I know of was an original owner car that burned. There's nothing like a touring car in the summer, but in those days even the rich were stoic and could rack up some impressive mileages on those touring cars.
