Nice pictures! Although I can see a tear in the eye of your patrician to see her birthplace in ruin like that

Ok to be less sentimental: it would be nice for us Packard owners that the ruins would be saved but to be honest it needs to be demolished. It's an accident waiting to happen. I think we need to count our blessings that (part) of the proving ground got saved.

They were hoping to get some more work done at the site. Weather has not been cooperating.

Weather warmed up in Detroit today, hit 58, and they went back to clearing rubble.

Cleanup continuing. One "before" pic, as if we needed a reminder, and some "afters".

Having visited the ruins on East Grand Blvd a few years ago, every time I see these photos of areas being cleaned up and attention being given to this wonderful locale, I say a silent prayer of thanks to the powers that be that are making a sincere effort to save both the plant and the grand memories of East Grand Blvd..... I honestly never thought I would live to see the day when someone cared enough to do something there.....bless them every minute of every day for their efforts. I keep my fingers crossed that something good and profitable will come from all their input and $$$$'s. !

Thank you one and all for keeping our forum updated with pictures. I've never been there, but nostalgia hit me when I saw some of the "before" and "after" pictures and my "minds eye" could picture a bustling functioning factory on those newly cleaned floors.

Merry Christmas to all.

Regards, Steve

No new work reported at the plant during the winter. Update on plans in Crain's Detroit.

The first project is slated to include the 150,000-square-foot former administrative building. Palazuelo expects the financing sources to be identified, and licenses and approvals will be received by August, and that construction could begin shortly thereafter.
