When installing oil pan gaskets I usually do not use any sealer but with the multi piece gasket for my 38 6 it looks like it's necessary to use sealer where the gaskets adjoin. What do those of you on this forum recommend.. Thank you

I use a light and thin coating of an adhesive (your choice) on the pan and install the gasket to it. To position and locate the gasket on the pan I use the pan bolts in some of the holes until the adhesive sets up. Then, a light coating of grease on the engine side of the gasket to help when it gets slid into position. Fixing the gasket to the pan will help with the installation, but more so the next time the pan is removed. I hope this helps. Others may use a different procedure.
