Seen in Hye, Texas, on the way to Fredericksburg to visit the Christmas Store there and add to our Dickens Village collection. It is the seldom seen 120C Sedan Coupe model and appears in good condition inside and out. A repaint and interior work were done in the past. Looks like it was just drug out of long-term storage, which it was. It is not running, but is scheduled to be made road worthy. It will be used by a winery there for publicity purposes including display and weddings. I provided addresses to this web site and the one for the Packard Club so the people working on the car will have access to expert information and parts sources. Hopefully, they will avail themselves to this opportunity and we will be able to watch this lovely old Packard come back to life. Maybe they will see the wisdom in removing the Buick (I think) brake light.

Indeed a very rare body style outside of the Ford-Plymouth-Chevrolet price range. It appealed especially to young families, seating for 4 or 5 at less cost than a sedan and without the concern of the kiddies and the back door. I hope it's in a home that appreciates it for what it is, and it receives some TLC.

Dave, Your comment brought back the memory of my then 4 year old sister falling out through the rear driver side "suicide" door of my grandfather's 1939 Pontiac back in the early 1950's. The car was travelling slowly over a set of railway tracks and the door swung open sending my sister out onto the road. Luckily for all concerned no cars we coming in the opposite direction or following close and she had only a few bruises as a result. The car was shortly traded in for a 1949 2 door Plymouth.
