these tags where found in the wall of the golf club door I don't know what they mean. Is the second number a production number? Also the body number tag says Packard motor company Detroit Mich.
is that the plant my car came out of?

I can't quite make out from the photo if that's a 338 or a 339. Both would correspond to a 6th Series Standard Eight on the 126 inch wheelbase; 338 is the 2-4 passenger coupe and 339 the 2-4 passenger convertible coupe. Off the top of my head the sequential numbering in the 6th Series began at 1 so you'd have the 664th such car built.

With the exception of 1899 thru 1903 and some very limited production in Canada between 1931 partway thru 1939 (mostly though not exclusively RHD cars for Canada and export), all Packards were produced in Detroit, Michigan.

The round tag looks like, or similar to the ones that Harrah put on his cars. He usually put them in the engine compartment though. A corresponding tag would be attached to the key ring.

Photo is very unclear but it's not familiar to me.

Where on the car was that tag located? Anything else on it besides the number?

#664 is the production number, I think. See my comment above regarding the round tag. If it is a Harrah number, it is a very low Harrah number. Do you know if it was once in that collection?

The one downtown I think was more than a dealer. I think it was also factory distribution? I'm sure someone else can clarify more on that.

I need to know how to get ahold of the 1929 roster keeper

Not at all difficult; go to The Packard Club website (www.packardclub.org) and select Roster Keepers from the menu on the left side.
