Hi folks,
last summer I acquired a original 1957 Packard clipper with only 36,000 miles on it.It has been a joy to drive and everything works EXCEPT the interior dome light.I have not been able to find out how to remove the cover to change the bulb.I'm sure the plastic cover is brittle so I don't want to force it.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My 54 cavalier has a dome light in the rear and the metal cover with the plastic lens pulls off as one peice and it is quite tight.

If one of the 57 owners doesn't post an answer soon confirming it just pulls off you might also ask at the Studebaker forum.http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/forumdisplay.php?6-General-Studebaker-Specific-Discussion As you know, the 57 Packard is a facelifted and rebadged Studebaker so except for some trim and gauges etc, many of the interior items may well be Stude and could be slightly different than those Packard used.

The lens and the chrome trim all come off together grad the light assembly and pull it out. See pictures should come off pretty easy.

G'day spfan,
for including your '57 Clipper Town Sedan in the Packard Owner's Registry, very nice indeed!
