Very easy to tow. I was in the same boat about 3 weeks ago. Picked up a 1947 Clipper 6 with my 97 F150 (4.6) trailering a standard UHAUL car carrier across 4 states (total cost for the rent was $67). Tow was easy and didn't skip a beat. You should have no issue with your 1/2 ton chevy..../"

Also.. if you rent from UHAUL.. the packard DOES not show up in their list.. I just had the rep select STUDEBAKER. Again, the clipper loaded up easy and was an easy tow.

Nice looking '47 Clipper Paul. Thanks for the encouragement.

Do the rear fenders unbolt on these Packard Clippers (1946-47) or are they made as part of the rear body?

Rear fenders are part of the body shell and do not unbolt.

Okay, what you fellows think?? 1200 dollars. hasn't been run in 5 yrs. Says coil went bad. Says has all parts for the car that are missing in the picture.
Worth the asking price??

What thing should I be looking for as problem areas? Says trunk floor is solid, 2 small holes in floor pan.

John

Can't see much detail because you posted thumbnails instead of the actual pic. IMO $1200 for any Clipper that is complete and not a rust bucket or been wrecked is not too bad. If all it needs is a coil and some TLC, better still. Original coils are available but exchange only and somewhat expensive because of the armored cable and bottom connection but there are options to use a modern 6v universal coil until you want to get another orignal.

If you will post some larger photos am sure you will get better opinions.

Try the PDF and see if that works any better, if it does I'll redo the other pictures.

I'd probably go with a regular coil on it. Maybe even "upgrade" to a 12 volt system. John
