Hi I'm rebuilding my carburetor and not sure of what the float height should be and should it sit almost in the bottom of the bowl when empty

Your carburetor overhaul kit should have come with an instruction sheet that specifies all the settings for the carburetor including float level and drop, and gauges to set them.

Its a Daytona kit and only shows the level of 7\32 but nothing of the float drop wasn't sure if anybody knew what it should be

My rebuild info for the WGD (which is not a Packard document) does not show a specification for float drop.

See page 9 in the Fuel & Exhaust section of the 1951-54 service manual that is available on this site.

Clearance between the top surface of the float and the bowl cover should be 13/64 inch with the cover inverted and the needle valve seated.
