anyone out there know if a Group 4 case fits a 1941 regular body underseat tray? A Group 2 is smaller.

Group 4 will fit in a '41 senior underseat battery box, I don't know if the junior boxes are smaller or not. Let me suggest the large NAPA commercial 6-volt Group 4, gobs more CCA than an Optima and at least for me they last 8 or more years.

I think that's what I'm looking at: Group 4, 975 CCA

You might check the depth of your tray. That would seem to be an issue if repro tray sizes are the same as on the actual cars. Ulrich and San Diego PI have Gr 2 repro trays around 7" deep but the Gr 4 battery appears to be 9 3/8 high. I would wonder if the terminals would clear the cover with a sufficient margin of safety.

The large NAPA Grp 4 commercial is more than 1000 CCA, though I forget the exact number; it was NAPA #7210 some years back but I seem to recall it was assigned a new number - got 11 years of service from that one. Also you might check a Delco 4HD6V battery - comparable specs - that's the Grp. 4 I currently have in my 34, now in it's 7th year.

not so easy. catching in the curves where the floor hole is rounded. I pulled out the cradle that sits on the two heavy bars - 11 7/8 between the end hoops vs 12 1/2 case did you guys modify the holder , and how do you slip it into the hole in the floor we won't get into the acid spill
