Does anyone here have a 1940 Packard accessory brochure/catalog? I'd like to see the page referring to accessory trunks, please. Or, a complete scan of the whole catalog.
Thanks.

West, is the info you are seeking in Hollingsworth's book on the 1940s? I have a copy and can look later if you don't have one.

I don't now. I've been unable to locate one of Hollingsworth's books.

West, I looked through my copy of Jim's book and did not see anything about accessory trunks. He did include a trunk rack in the list of accessories ($28 for 110s and 120s, $39 for the 160s, and standard on the 180s), but no trunks.

Thank you. I was told at Hershey by a fellow Packard owner that my metal trunk was not appropriate for my car. I was a little taken aback, because I thought the metal trunks had replaced the leather trunks in the late 1930s. I was curious if they offered both in 1940. The trunk pictured in the 1939 accessory catalog appears to be metal, so I want to verify that it should be metal.

West, I know nothing specific for 1940 but as you know Packard offered a variety of different trunks, as many as 4 different ones in the earlier years. Metal trunks were available in 1935, perhaps earlier. The 1936 Accessory Catalog shows 3 types of trunks and indicates they are available covered in either painted sheet metal or "Fabrikoid".

Found not very good picture, but either I have forgotten how to attach, or it will not let me. Give me some steps, thanks When I try to attach the photo, I get an error message, forum not selected?

I'm going to assume my fellow Packard owner was wrong. The 1939 accessory catalog mentions ONLY a metal trunk.

Well unless someone will assist me in uploading the photo from the accessory book, nothing I can do.
