New Packard owner! HELLO!

Hello guys,
New here to the forum and a new owner of a 1950 Packard.
Hoping to gain some knowledge and meet a few new friends. :)
Although I may get shunned by some, and I certainly don't mean to offend, but I'm a "hot-rodder" and my sedan will be a mild custom, or more correctly a resto-mod (stock looking body, updated drive train and suspension).
With that being said, I'll be posting a thread in the classified section with my stock engine and trans (car is a 39K mile original owner), hopefully someone here can use the parts.
Best wishes,
-Mike M
P.S. I'll post pictures ASAP... :)

Welcome. While there are a few purists on site I believe you will find other kindred spirits and you will be welcomed. Others have done as you are contemplating so you are not forging any new ground here.

Your car is a facelifted version of the prewar and 46-7 Clippers so while the body styling is not exactly like your car, it is similar. You said sedan so am assuming yours is a four door. This is not quite the same body but maybe for some inspiration on yours, here is a 42 Clipper two door that has undergone some very nicely done work.

G'day Mike (h.d.fire),
to PackardInfo, yes room for all here and their varied tastes.

And, I invite you to include your "resto-mod" '50 in the Packard Owner's Registry. If you do, could you please include a pic there?

Welcome H.D.Fire! Although I have a nearly stock 1955 Patrician, I am building a 1956 "resto-mod" myself. Others on this fine forum are doing similar things to varying degree, so you will fit right in.

Thank you for the warm welcome guys! VERY excited about this car! I've been building street rods and customs for over 30 years and always wanted/loved the Packards!

Hopefully this picture will attach....

Mike,
for including your '50 "resto-mod" Eight Sedan in the Packard Owner's Registry.

But, in the Registry it's identified as a 2395-5 Eight Club Sedan(two door), while the Registry picture shows a four door sedan. Can you please check the Data Plate and edit the entry or advise me and I can do it on your behalf?

Mal-
Sorry for the LOOONG delay in getting this to you...
The body number on my car (on the firewall) is:
236229965
It is obviously a 4-door sedan, the standard "8" model.
Thanks for correcting this.
