First, I love that Einstein quote. I see it demonstrated daily when watching what's going on in Washington, DC.

Second, having lived the bulk of my life in the south, when I moved to Madison, Wisconsin, I couldn't wait for the first winter and Christmas, so I could cut my own Christmas tree. It looked like such an adventure when depicted in TV shows and movies. Also, I well remember all those idyllic Christmas cards featuring a happy group of people cutting down a Christmas tree. Boy, was I in for a rude awakening!

I had to trudge through knee-high snow in single-digit weather into a field of trees with a hand-saw. By the time I was able to cut the tree down, my hands were numb, then I had to drag the tree back to my truck through the snow. By the time I got to my truck, I was winded. When I got the tree home, I had to let it thaw for a day in the garage until the snow and ice melt out of the limbs. What an ordeal.

One thing for sure, it was an adventure.
Happy Holidays

Mal, great outfit. Hope you were not a victim of the storms that went through Sydney. It looked like they caused a lot of damage. Happy Holidays!

John,

Outfit is for my "work" as a department store Santa on Saturdays and Sundays. It's bl@@dy hot wearing it, even though the store is air conditioned!

While, fortunately for me the severe part of the storm, the mini-tornado, was in an area well away from where I was at the time although the rain bucketed down.

Garrett,

My daughter and son-in-law have a similar story with a tree a couple of years ago, since then it's been an artificial tree!

Mal, good to know that you are a bit thermally insulated under the outfit.

Thank you for the thought. I am visiting my daughter and she put her train under the tree just to appease the old man.
