I have to light a fire under the engine shop,I'll be reassembling the motor when it comes back. In the meantime I'll be repairing the minor floor holes in the front and rear clip and disassembling the dashboard. It was originally wood grained, a bit is left under some bezels and the glove box ornament. I think the window frames were grained too, Grain-It in Florida will be doing the work, 8-10 weeks turnaround.

The rear has been gone through and all components inspected and replaced as needed. Then the end play was checked and a .005 shim was installed.

While putting the rear brakes back together. An issue with the bolt that holds the brake lever to the brake shoe was found. The bolt was to short. Come to find out after looking at the old parts at one time a set of junior brakes were installed on the car. With the new "correct" brake shoes on the bolt would not fit as the the Senior shoes have the re-enforcement on the brake shoes. So it was replaced with the correct bolt/pin.

The moist disheartening thing about this restoration is the photo of the back of my head (above). Had no idea I was going bald.

Temporarily held up on chassis completion, rear brake cable supplier sent standard cable for 2552 instead of 40" longer fort he 20" stretched chassis. Just arrived, will be installed in the morning.

I've started grinding the rust in the front cabin, mostly some minor "swiss cheesing" in the floors, no structural problems. May get a chance to do some metal work or bond metal onto "holy" sections with the super stuff they use to build new cars. Fun to try something new.

Sent the dash and 4 window frames out to be wood grained, chose '34 V-12 pattern. Very difficult to determine what was on there originally but it was dark. Want to lighten it up a bit.

Interior was tan broadcloth front and read but not in the standard pattern Years ago I saw a restored '55 Imperial Limo with med blue broadcloth, it was spectacular. Always love it, going to do the car in blue Supposedly there were 4 similar cars made, the first completed by Dietrich and the other 3 started by him and finished by Henney with more utilitarian interiors.
Our car is undoubtedly #1 as photos of other car(s) show a black leather/vinyl front seat with no stitching pattern.
