Were there ever any outside mirrors used on a 1949 series 22 4 door sedan?

My car only has the inside rear view mirror would like to be able to see down the sides of the car while driving.

Pictures would be a help.

Thanks,
Dave

Yes, left, right or pairs - they were standard dealer accessories and reproductions are available today from Dwight Heinmuller and perhaps others. The 1948 Accessory catalog is available here, take a look for yourself.

Thanks so much, I saw the mirrors on the 48 accessory page. Just what I need.

In some states, such as California where I live, a driver's outside rear view mirror is required under law so it's not uncommon to see vintage or period door-edge clip-on mirrors which are better than nothing.
