Hi

The form of a upper rumble seat lid and lower lid for the spare is found on '37-'38 B-Body GM convertible coupes such as Buick Special and Century and Olds Six and Eight. Generally they're referred to as "double-decked".

I defer to the pre-war expert whether Packard did so too.

Mal, thanks. To say it with Randy: sometimes I'm slow, sometimes I'm slower.

No expert here but from my limited experience, a sample of one here in Oz, '37 115C's certainly had this configuration.
Apologies, foot in mouth disease has struck again! See pic below of '37 115C in Oz with Rumble Seat and Trunk. Not at all like the one being questioned!

Mal, if a Packard expert is one of those high-toned, who wear a quilted gilet with club emblem and a stop watch made from sterling silver then you are no Packard expert.

ZIS car with lower lid was offered to me seven years ago. It can be taken for granted to be original. Knowing about its rarity I had to summon up all my courage to refuse.
