56 Voltage Regulator Insulator

Hi folks,
I have been looking for the part number for the insulator that was used to insulate the connections going to the voltage regulator on the '56 Delco regulator.

It does not appear to be listed under the Voltage Regulator Group - 4.0703, nor did I see it listed under Wiring Harness 4.2320.

Any idea what this part number is, or where I could find it for this elusive insulator?
Thanks,
Fran

I'm not certain that it even had a part number, someone will correct me on that if I'm wrong. Many vendors over the years have searched for some standard available box-section rubber extrusion to use in making a reproduction, nothing has come to fruition yet though at last week's PAC National at least one vendor told me he was closing in on a source.

I've made a sketch of it with dimensions and posted here previously for someone in Europe who thought they might find a suitable extrusion to modify; if I can quickly find the sketch I'll attach it again.

Thanks OD,
I have the sketch that you provided and it is most helpful. Never having seen an original one, I have some additional questions pertaining to appearance - composition, color and texture (gray, white or black; hard plastic like, or softer rubber like etc.).

I was hoping for the part # to contact Bruce Blevins for a copy of the original engineering drawings that might provide some of the missing info.
Thanks again for your great response, and it was a pleasure meeting you at the Traverse City National meet.

The original is stiff rubber. It is black and grips the three terminals on the regulator (thanks Dave) very well. It would be a simple pour after you make a mold for it. I have never seen a part number listed for it.

Cut Randy a little slack, he meant generator regulator, not distributor.

AH ha, stiff black rubber. Just what I was looking for.
Thanks all!
