Hi, I am Gary My grandson and I purchased a 1953 Packard Clipper Sportster.
We are in the process of making a completed restoration.
I ask this question for now....I live in the Springfield, MO area and would like to know where I can be some items recromed and to look for parts?
I am not real computer savey so will have to wait on my Grandson to insert pictures and register our Packard with this site.
Thank you,
Gary

And in addition to Kanterhttps://www.kanter.com/packard/ is Max Merritthttp://www.maxmerrittauto.com Those are the two primary NOS and repro parts vendors. Tucson Packardshttp://www.tucsonpackard.com and Patrician Industries which has no formal web site but does offer a few items from an ebay storehttp://stores.ebay.com/packards1 sell new, rebuilt or used parts or combinations thereof. Seattle Packards, PackardsSouthwest and a couple of others deal primarily in used parts.

In addition to what has already been presented.

Check out The Packard Club website,http://www.packardclub.org

You can download the Packard club yellow pages for more vendors.
You can also look for regional clubs close to you.

Welcome, and also just asked here and a lot of people here have a lot of spares at time for sale. Another if you have any questions it is best to check the Advanced Search first because the Forum is full of useful information asked by other people just like yourselves.

Hi Gary

Welcome to the most enthusiastic, friendly, knowledgeable, generous, helpful and civil on-line forum you'll find. Fortunately, its for Packards.

To help you through your restoration project, please start a Project Blog in that section here. It makes it much easier to address your specific questions, find answers later and for all of us to follow your progress, which we like to do.

Many of the problems you will encounter have been handled by others who have maintained project blogs, so its worthwhile to peruse those for pointers and solutions. The search function also works very well, though phrasing the questions can sometimes be challenging to get the computer to give you good answers.

So, welcome again, hope to see you here frequently and good luck with your '53 Clipper Sportster project.

Steve

Thanks Steve,
For an old man, tell me how do I start a blog?
My Grandson, Bud, I call him, took pictures of the car before we started dismanteling it. He has also taken some pics through some of the stages we are in.
We've got most of the body apart and now taking the engine apart. It is frozen tight as can be so lubricating it to break it free.
Thanks again,
Gary
