Finally found and signed a lease on a house, after a frustrating search and dealing with flaky listing agents. So we now have an address for everything to be delivered to! PROGRESS!

From what I've been reading the last few weeks, about the only thing left for that south of Chicago area is locusts. Hopefully the new house is well out of the crap weather zone.

I'll be in a newer development in the city of West Chicago. Which is about 29 miles directly west of Chicago.

The rental market there is incredibly tight, very little inventory and they demand high prices. This one opened up and was at the same price as smaller houses in crappier areas. So we were lucky to be first in to get it. Signed a two-year lease to lock the rate in. We had Nicole's brother go and do all the walk thrus for us, and provide us a real-time virtual walk thru via FaceTime.

Good Morning Big Kev---I will say the Irish 9 Glories for your families protection on the trip. I really enjoyed dinner with you and your lovely lady in Riverside. Ernie, caretaker of the 1949 288 Deluxe 'Miss Prudence'.

The first house we looked at was 2 blocks from Fermi Lab in Warrenville. But the owner didn't want to address any of the maintenance issues. I would think a bad downspout that was leaking water into a corner of a finished basement to the point the carpet was soaked, may be something that should be fixed. Also the previous tenants had soiled some of the carpet beyond cleaning and he didnt want to replace them.

So we had to eliminate that one from the list.

About 2 weeks until the convoy leaves Calif for the nearly 2000 miles trek across the country.

I have 4 working days left in the office, and won't see my boss again after today since he is out of town next week. He gave me with this parting gift, figuring I didn't yet have any appropriate clothing for the Chicago winters. I guess it will come in handy while shoveling the snow.
