Hi

This turned up on the thoseoldcars Tumblr site. A sweet period color photo of perhaps Easter morning with the family '52 200 sedan before heading to church.

Proud 1953 Clipper Deluxe owner. Thinking about my next Packard, want a Clipper Deluxe Eight, manual shift with overdrive.

cool picture, looks very much like the paint scheme on our car. I have noticed that when the top is painted a contrasting color (even from the factory) sometimes the window frames on the doors are painted and sometimes they stay the base body color. Our car was not repainted (the top at least) that I can tell in it's lifetime, and yet it differs from this Easter car photo.

Packard seemed to make those subtle paint distinctions when a model carried over virtually unchanged from year to year. 42, 46, 47 Clippers are the same way with slight variations in the two toning treatment on the door frames above the belt molding there too.

The "Easter" car has another anomaly. The 52 style scoops and no hood letters would indicate 52 but I don't see a grill crest either. Is the crest missing or since the 250 was introduced after the rest of the 51 models, was that a late 51 or an interim early 52 model. The louvers being options are not much of an indicator since they could have been added later but to remove the hood letters or crest would have required some work.

Looking closely, it appears the grille crest has been removed. It is a '52 200 Deluxe sedan.
