1957 Packard Power Window Switch

Just mulling over the possibility of adding power windows to my 1957
Packard wagon.
As it was a rare option and I have never seen one so equipped.
Does anybody know what the switches looked like?
Are there any switches out there? And at at least a photograph?
Perhaps they were the same as used by Packard in the 1955-56 models?
Please help me as I am in need of your help.

All I find are illustrations, no photos. You sometimes have to assume brochure illustrators take a bit of artistic license but from what I see they are not the same as Packard switches. Looking at some of the repro offerings on ebay some of the late 50s GM switches almost look passable.

Thanks again Howard!
I really hadn't any idea as to what I may be looking for.
If the assemblies check out, I'll start a switch search
I appreciate all your help!
Bill

Well I talked to the Studebaker folks in South Bend today.
The units they have in their warehouse have checked out.
I ordered them and will wait for their arrival to see what's next.

That is good to hear. Maybe they can dig deeper and find you some proper switches too.

Hi

All the '56-'58 Studebakers and '57-'58 Packards with power windows I've seen over the years used the same door switch units. Check the body parts catalog for the part numbers, you should find they're listed as used by all these. BTW, Hawks only had power windows available for the door windows, but not the quarter windows.

Proud 1953 Clipper Deluxe owner. Thinking about my next Packard, want a Clipper Deluxe Eight, manual shift with overdrive.

Thanks Howard and Steve!
Next step for me is to dig out my manuals and find the S-P part numbers for switches and bezels.
This is looking like it may come together, I hope!

Still waiting on the Studebaker folks for regulator assemblies.
In the mean time I found the manuals and dug out the part numbers for the escutcheons, switches, and bezels. Maybe Lark Works can put together a wire harness?
We will see...
