The comment that I'm nearly done with the '52 limo is deplorable. I'm not sure if the comment is more or less deplorable than the '41 LeBaron. Let's leave it as I'm a champion of lost causes.

Good Morning Fred...I always feel that any Packard that we Packard lovers decide to purchase and improve/restore is very lucky for the attention that we give them. In the case of what you are doing, you will have the soul of several Packard automobiles united and they will live on, as opposed to rusting completely away or have really terrible ending of being turned into a Toyota! I am really enjoying following you as you work on the project. Another Packard saved! Ernie

Thank you Owen for posting the photos! And Thank you Fred for buying the limo. I hope your plans include bringing one rare Packard back from the brink. I guess since there's no interior left and no serial or body number wel'll never know if she was equipped with air conditioning or the cool Cellarette unit.

Fred, by all means start a deplorable LeBaron thread. I'm sure there's interest.

A Polish website provides an old volume of the monthly "Steel". Page 27 reports about the Packard with "icemaking machinery".

Hi Guscha,

Re: Reference to the 1941 Packard in Steel.

You may go to the head of the research class, as you found a highly obscure mention of the 1941 Packard exhibit at the New York Auto Show October 21, 1940.

The 1941 Packard featured a "cellarette" bar with "ice-making machinery."

Thanks,

Guscha, how in the world did you find that? Talking about the needle in a haystack!

Mal, be so kind to exchange this high quality scan against the one, stored in the department of 1940-1942 Packard advertisements.
