Yeah I'm glad I joined this website and I'm thankful for all the advice I'm getting I really want to bring my Packard back from the grave my plan is take the rear fenders off take the body off work on the frame and all that but here's a summary of what my goals are for next year is I wanna get the car so the mechanical's are all intact and running so It's drive-able but when It comes to the body after I get it running and fix the floors and trunk I'll start looking for fenders and doors but one thing is I don't know how to deal with rust any tip's on rust removal??

You might want to look at this 1940 sedan. It's not that far away from you and very affordable, lots of good parts, and engine you can sell.

It's good to see you have a plan and vision for your Packard. On the mechanical side, as you disassemble parts/components, make sure you comprehensively photo document everything, or make drawings of how things came apart(with dimensions if needed) then clean/bag/tag so that when you come back later you'll know whats what. I have an excuse for not remembering(getting old) but it doesn't matter how old you are, 'cause over time the plethora of nuts & bolts and parts is considerable. Some things will be apparent but others will be much easier when you have help at hand.

Concerning rust, from what I understand, in your part of the US cars can rust quite badly. Depending on what, where and how rusty something is will determine how to approach it. Surface and "mild" rust can be cleaned up and then preventative rust treatments/coatings applied. More serious rust damage will require replacement of the rusted areas using patch panels or new sections of metal, not a job for the faint hearted or inexperienced. If your school, or a local community organisation, offers classes in welding or body work sign up now so when the time comes you're ready!

Very much doubt that Kanters do. From what I understand there are only a few reproduced stamped, mainly floor and trunk, panels available for any Packards and these require work to fit properly. There might be NOS or good used available, but if you can find them I'd suggest they'll be pricey. Saw in your pic that the left rear inner fender panel was rusted as well as the bottom of the right rear door. With probably more rust elsewhere.

If a sedan is so rusty that it needs new inner rear fenders it's probably not worth restoring. Nobody to my knowledge makes those for Packards, however high production cars like Model A's and others have such availability.

I applaud the effort to work on the car, good learning experience
