I've owned it for just over a year. It ran when I got it home but I realized that a crack in the exhaust manifold was heating the fuel in the sediment bowl on the carburetor to about 175F. I decided it was time to start the rebuild.

There was no time until retirement hit so I've gotten started.

I got help from my son and we removed the front cap today. It appears the left fender might have impacted something in the last 70 years. There is a lot of hardware that doesn't match.

Is the radiator supposed to be in the center of the surround? Mine was off to the right.

My left headlight mount is not looking so good. (Pic 1)

The sheet metal that is behind the grill and below the radiator should be flat on the bottom and straight on the sides, correct? (pic2)

Took the front end apart and found some damage evidence behind the grill. I think it can be straightened out though. Left front fender has some damage in the headlight mounting area and not all is from impact. The mount is rusted out. Most bolts came out without resistance.
