356 Harmonic Damper Removal

Forgive my ignorance...is the damper on the 356 a solid unit that can be removed with a standard gear puller or is it a two-piece unit that needs a special puller to keep it from tearing apart during removal?

Here is what Packard says to use out of the 46-50 SM and an illustration of the puller from the 46 service tool catalog. There should be something modern that would work in a similar fashion.
