Hi all:
Just a quick and probably silly question. Are the hydraulic lifters interchangeable with the solid lifters on a 288?
Thanks

Lifters will fit but cam profile between hydraulic and solid is different.

I made the swap on a 53 5 main 327 replacing the hydraulics with solids and kept the hydraulic cam. Car seemed to run fine with no obvious difficulties or power loss but others can better say if anything might be sacrificed by not changing the cam along with the lifters.

I made this change back in the day when NOS and proven used hydraulic lifters were harder to come by. Repros for the 288/327 engine block are available now so not as much need for a change.
