Great info and I am storing it away for future reference. Just to clarify, is that for the front, rear or both?

Again, the correct brake hose for 51-54 all positions is 11146. 11147 is correct for front wheels on 55-56 and is a little shorter.
11146 is used at the rear 51-56. If you use a 11147 there it may pull up tight when the rear axle drops.

All the hoses for my 53 Clipper Deluxe are the same hose, 2 in front and 1 in back. Do you know how to contact Packard Info so they can change it in their material because I got the print out from this site with the wrong part number in it.

After just reading Ross's post I stand corrected. I think he must be right because he is the one who told me what part number at Napa. OK so the rear is 11146 and the 2 fronts are 11147. I haven't changed the rear so I didn't know until now. I will soon and I'm glad to know the right part number. Thank you.

The rear axle would drop if the car is lifted by the frame which would be the case with many hoists that have arms which are adjusted to lift at strong points on the frame rails

. . . or hitting a very large bump at speed where the wheels leave the ground. I'm just saying!
On the numbers, my notes have for front 1953 and earlier and commercial chassis, Napa UP4497. Unfortunately, I did not note the source but it seems that I should delete the note as it must be in error. In any event, don't forget the get the copper crush washers as they are not usually included with the Napa hoses while they are required on any Packard.

Yes, Napa uses 4497 but they are clearly too big for my 53 Clipper Deluxe, not sue about any other years or models. I think this site should include the Napa #11147 number(3/8-24) that actually fits. If any of you know how please inform them...or direct me. I am so grateful for all of your advice. I love this Packard family.
