Working my way toward getting the headliner installed. Had to install the kick-panels first then the windlace. Used an aluminum channel to hold the kick-panel rather than screws that show. All the factory kick-panels were long gone. The channel also holds the windlace below the dash. Need to finish the driver side than it's time to installing the headliner.

After 5 long years of work, I was finally able to roll the car out of the shop and into the sunlight in a reasonably finished condition. Still need to get the rest of the interior finished and should have it completed by year end. Hard as I tried, I couldn't get it ready for the Florida Packard Club annual meeting on November 18th. I'll take some pictures to show them I really do have a Packard!

Sure looks good. Anxious to see the car on the road and find how the gas gauge fix works out. Many will be owing you a huge thanks if it does as good in the car as on the bench.

Finally finished installing the carpet.

The floor was covered with Hushmat sound deadener/insulation. The jute underlay was installed over the insulation. The pattern for the front carpet is tricky due to the shape of the transmission tunnel cover. I used some scrap auto carpet to make the pattern. The pattern was traced to the cut-pile carpet. The front section of the carpet was glued over the jute underlay. The rear section of the carpet was sent to the carpet company to have the exposed edge bound. It was also glued over the jute. The stainless trim by the door sill was installed. Ribbed rubber will be installed to simulate the original Packard sill plates.

The camera flash lightens up the color of the carpet, it's dark charcoal gray.

Next up is installing the door panels, package tray and seats.

After the carpet was installed, The kick panels, brake and clutch pads and gas pedal were added.

The rear panels and arm rests were the next to be installed then the back of the rear seat. The rear window moldings and window cranks were added.

A pair of rear seat belts were attached to the body with Grade 8 bolts then the bottom of the back seat was snapped in.

The front seat was cleaned is ready to install as soon as I can enlist some help to lift it in.

In the meantime, I'm gathering everything else that will go in after the front seat. That includes the front door panels and window moldings, the steering wheel assembly and shifter and the interior and exterior division bars for the windshield.

Hope to have the engine started before Christmas and driving before the end of the year. This will finally answer the question about whether my improvised gas gauge sender and gauge will actually work!

My actual "driving" of my project has stalled due to a failed fuel pump. It was all ready to go when the fuel pump blew the diaphragm while still in my shop. Sent it to Gould and am anxiously waiting its return. Meanwhile working on other small projects. Got the front seat moved back 3" to support my frame, added front and rear seat belts, affixed the jack and tool storage boxes in the trunk and added the front license plate mount. Can't wait the get it on the road!

Sorry to hear about your setback. You have done a great job. Can you provide any tips on installing the front carpet? Thanks
