Have new armored switch but don't know how to get switch into interior and other end has cover on it Maybe a trick to accomplish this

I can't see enough detail in those photos posted the other day with your question re the cable routing but it almost looks like the firewall under the small space the cable comes thru is black. If so, I am thinking that black may be the sheet metal toe board which surrounds the pedals and steering column. If so, the plate is held by some sheetmetal screws. I wonder if loosening that plate and moving it inward slightly would allow the coil end of the cable to go thru to the engine side.

If that is not the answer then I look forward to learning the secret too.
