Thanks for all of the inputs. It took about 30 minutes to install the kit. As voiced on this blog a brake bleed was not needed. I needed to squash the three female electrical connectors a bit to get them to fit snugly. Topped off the jar with fluid. Brake lights now work.

Best of all the other half of the family is smiling as she can now drive the car.

Next project is to rebuild the carburetor of the '51 200 sedan.

The jars can be purchased I borrowed a spare setup Randy Berger had made pictures of his OEM setup found a source for the jars planning to make a few setups that will be close to it. The bottom retainer for jar show correct per the one on Randy's 400

If you do make some repros I would be interested in buying one or two.

Wendell Spreadbury in Texas was selling after market remote brake fluid reservoirs at the Texas Packard Meets. The were machined out of aluminum billet and came with all the tubing and connections. He is listed in the PAC directory. JWL

As a follow question on this matter, My system reservoir developed a leak at the fitting and the plug on the master cylinder that completely drained the jar's contents onto the garage floor. I've repaired the leak and now need to refill the jar. What do I need to do to see that the fluid gets to the master system correctly?

If the fittings are snugged tight they will automatically siphon brake fluid from the jar as the system is bled or brakes adjusted. Nothing else is required.

Thanks for your help. Sure couldn't ask for anything easier than that.
