I was wondering I selected a body and paint shop to re-do my car and of course I could save a great deal of money if I could get as much chrome trim of the car as possible. How do the chrome moldings around the front windshield and rear back-light come off? I know the ones on the front doors are held in place by clips-but how would I get the other ones off?

Just be warned that if your front and rear windshield rubber seals are petrified, you'll most that like have to cut the rubber to remove the stainless trim with out bending it. Which means spending around $250 per seal to replace. So make sure it's worth it to you before proceding.

Replacing the windshield rubber is not an easy job. If you have to cut the rubber to remove the trim, find someone who has done the replacement to do the installation. That may have been the nastiest job during the restoration of the Caribbean.

I would leave it on. Dig the dum dum out around trim..

The paint will seal the area. Then put dum dum back after painted..the front top area was known to leak.
