I am trying to get this car back together the way it came new.......the attached picture shows the grill shell, there is a brace under the chrome piece, are they supposed to be attached together with a nut and bolt????......sorry guys but there is no literature out there to steer us newbies in the right direction.

There is a sheet metal cover that covers the grill and bolts to the side panels. I can supply pictures, however need to replace a dead phone first.

I can't guarantee that this isn't a case of apples (110) and oranges (180), but this is the front hood connection of my '41 180.

If you look on ebay 273437182668 you will se the correct auto-lite coil for the 41 110. I would go by the old saying (if it ante broke don't fix it) unless you want a 100 point show car, just run the coil you have as 90% of the people don't know what is original. I have the show car that is original, but it is more fun to have a driver that you can use.

is the upper sheet metal shroud from the grille back towards the radiator the same for all engines, or will there be separate ones for the 282-356-6 cyl?

just found the brackets on ebay that support the hood center strip 132780426865. Dave Moe has them listed, he is a nice person to deal with. If you look in the parts book you can see if the tin cover is the same for the 110, 12o, and 160, If you like I can look- let me know.

if this part is "top splasher", there are two different part numbers. One for the shorter engined 1900-1901, even though the hoods are different in length. Another for the 356 engined 1903-4-5-6-7-8.

56Chev, the 1901 (120) and 1903 (short wheelbase 160) share a lot of parts but also have small differences, so are a particularly sticky pair. Packard's practices, as you're seeing, were very different from GM's, where multiple makes share many parts
