I'm missing the part that holds the oil strainer screen to the oil pump pickup can. The strainer was floating loose in the oil pan and I would like to secure it properly. Do one of you have a photo of what it looks like so I could make one or, does anyone have a spare? Bob

If no one else chimes in and you can wait until I'm at my Oregon shop sometime in October, I can take a look and get come photos of how it was done on a 1940 110. They my not be identical but should be very similar and possibly even interchangeable.

From what I recall, the bottom cover is crimped on. Working on a '41 120, a '38 Six and a '39 120 they were "all the same" or at least had no easily discernible differences. If the cover is now "full floating" maybe all it needs is reattachment to the pickup using some "delicately applied" brute force to ensure it's back where it belongs. Finally found a photo of the '41 120 pickup, if yours looks like that make sure the flaps/tags are secure.

Following toymanbob's reply below it's obvious my memory is flawed re the six/110 engines.

On another note I invite toymanbob to include his '38 Six in the Packard Owner's Registry.

On my '37, there was a cylindrical basket. It was held in place by a piece of wire with a semi-circle on one end. That end went in a slot, and the other end went through a hole. I'll try to find a picture on my old project blog later.

Can I purchase 1/8" spring steel to make this part? I'm also considering using a piece of all thread with lock nuts, it would be better than the factory part. Any thoughts? Bob
