Had to use a slide hammer with the rod with a hook as mentioned in other posts to get this one out.
(Gentel bumps with the slide)
Once out I found it is of steel construction and has several rott holes. See attached photos...
Now to find a replacement.
Good thind though, It was perty clean inside with no appriciable mung/blockages.

At least you got yours before it wound up in the shape of one Ross posted a few years back. That one had nothing remaining but a few short pieces -- and those were filled with crud. I think I remember Flackmaster posting he had some brass tubes for the sixes but don't remember if he had a large supply or not. I am still curious if the steel tubes were something made during the war because of brass shortages or if they were just something made aftermarket for cheap.

HH56, I don't recall the photos of the one Ross removed but here's a photo of one I removed a few years ago from a 1938 Eight, the worst I've encountered. It was steel, perhaps a Dorman NORS tube and it was quite a challenge just getting this much removed.

Good luck finding a replacement! I had a hard time finding one. I ended up finding one from a private party. The tube in my 115c was also steel, this is all that was left when I got it out.
