Ultramatic leak

My 55 Clipper has developed a transmission leak. Fluid seems to be leaking out the hole in the bottom of the bell housing. Is this likely a front seal issue? If so, how difficult is it to replace? Are the front seals available separately? (without buying an entire seal set). The transmissions seems to shift fine & I'm keeping an eye on the fluid level.

Yes, the front seal is available separately. But check carefully as the seal failure may be indicative of other issues beyond simply a tired seal.

Well.

If the trans has miles on it like 50 thou. You might as well go thru it.

The trans has to be removed from car to get to seal.

Ross would know how to deal with it..
