Yes. Wrinkle-finish semigloss black.

Make sure you get the air scuppers mounted correctly, it is quite quite common to see the upper one backwards which doesn't do the lifespan of the generator any favors. The air inlet is the scupper on the brush band at the rear and the opening faces forward, it's positioned by a pin in the housing and a notch in the band. The air outlet is the upper scupper up front and its opening faces rearward.

If your generator has a red label, it's the running change to a higher output, brought about by the increasing popularity of radio equipment.

Dave,
So the generator scup is backwards?
Does the scupper get wrinkle paint also?
Thanks,
Richard

Your scupper is correct. And it should also be krinkle semigloss black. Your generator control is some modern aftermarket unit; were it original the cover would be engine green and with two Owen Dyneto decals. Thanks for Packardbarry for the photo.

Yes, someone did reproduce them, but I don't recall who or if the are still available. Packardbarry would almost certainly have that info.

On whether there are any period photos of the 1101s with painted radiator shells: I don't have a photo, but it's interesting that a few of the drawings/renditions in the 1101 catalog have a painted radiator shells.

Someone reprod the Decals years back but thats long gone.
My daughter is working on reproing the Decals so dont hold ur breath. Maybe my birthday.

Ive found the OD cans with

-The 2 Decals as show in the Photo

-DYNETO stamped Raised Lettering in top NO DECALS. COST REDUCTION ?????
Thinking this stared in mid'35. The photo Dick posted is off an early virgin '35 EIGHT and i have a friend with a Stamped DYNETO can on his '35 which we believe to be orig. to the car.

-NO Decal not a sign of passed decal COST ??????

-Just an Oval Decal

All appear to have orig. PACKARD Engine Green

PACKARD just loves to keep u guessing
