Is that recent project that was reproducing the shaft in 0.001 or 0.002" oversize still active? Who sponsored that project?

If it is the same one I am aware of I believe the fellow that was doing it passed. Haven't heard of a new project if you are speaking of another more recent one. There was a post when I was looking for a shaft a few years ago by a fellow that I believe said he had bought from the estate the last two of the original project that were available.

Thank you very much. My car did not have the clip on it when I removed the pedal assembly from the cross member. I appreciate the information. My '48 is my first Packard.

I believe I bought those last two shafts about 6-7 years ago. The fellow that made the shafts did indeed die. The fellow I purchased from was a Packard Club member ( New York) and lived in Canada. I used both shafts as received on my friends cars.
I also had a couple of shafts made for my car.

I have a good used shaft, round stock to make a shaft and two new machined shafts just like originals.

Regards
