I need a pair of the chrome trim (stainless?) that goes on the lower edge of the front fenders for my '38 7 passenger touring.

Thanks in advance

Bill

?????
There is no trim on the lower edge of the front fenders.
Are you talking about the running board trim?

West,

I think we are talking about the same piece. It runs from the front of the rear fender, along the running board to about 2-3 inches short of the front wheel opening on the fender, but it is on the bottom of the fender.

West,

I didn't explain it very well originally. Thanks for your help.

This company makes them for 1939. I'm not sure what the difference is for 1938. I would have thought they were the same, but it could be that 1938 are smooth, and 1939 are fluted?????

West,

That is a great site. I didn't know about it.

They are listing '39 only and they show a 138" wheelbase. I think both '38 and '39 had 139" wheel base 1X08's.

As far as the fluting, '38's had it on things like door and hood handles, but I am not sure about the trim. The rest of my long trim is plain if I remember, which is highly suspect.

I guess I can have Max Merritt make me some, but I would rather have original

The parts book available here might give some clues if you search on group 7.207. Without knowing your model, it does show that for most, 1938 and 1939 are the same other than being different lengths for the several wheelbases. Going from old memory, I seem to recall that the senior models were ribbed while the juniors were smooth but not sure!
