As you will have gathered long before, some evils have a name and even a category. Today on offer: the scream queen.

<iframe width="500" height="375" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/cmixe-Dii0Y?rel=0&controls=0&showinfo=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The Canadian-American actress Fay Wray (September 15, 1907 - August 8, 2004) was known as one of the first scream queens but please, dont get me wrong. This beautiful girl had much more to offer.

"...Two days after her death, the lights of the Empire State Building were extinguished for 15 minutes in her memory..."[wikipedia]

J. Farrell MacDonald was an actor, who appeared in 325 (!) movies but faded away during his lifetime - at least if wikipedia is to be believed.

"...His work on Sturges' films was generally uncredited, which was more often the case as his career went on - although the quality of his work was undiminished...."

The Packardinfo movie channel offers today a classic 1940 thriller.

All of you know the work of Edgar Rice Burroughs but who was he? Wikipedia explains:

"Edgar Rice Burroughs (September 1, 1875 - March 19, 1950) was an American writer best known for his creations of the jungle hero Tarzan and the heroic Mars adventurer John Carter, although he produced works in many genres."

the writer and a kind of dictaphone

I like to rake over old coals. ERB searched a long time for his place in life. He was railway policeman, door-to-door salesman, an accountant, the manager for a clerical department, peddler for a quack alcoholism cure and a pencil sharpener wholesaler at the age of 36. -> This way, please, for reading his "Bio".

BDC, thanks. A brief look to the windscreen seems to confirm your assumption. The above shown caption echos the description, displayed -> there.

According to this auction, the photograph shows actress Polly Walker. Either a namesake or a confusion of names.
The Polly Walker I know was born in 1966.
