G'day all, I would suggest that for a shell and little else $2K would be a reasonable price, after all, the purchaser has to ship it somewhere a loooong way away to work on the vehicle. Good luck to whoever gets the car. Best regards Peter Toet

Your welcome Gerd,
But if we are going to talk about this car Im going to ask this:

Gerd if you visited it last year, did this car have any interior left somewhere els stashed away or was it more like a body donor?
Second thing, what year was that car build?
And third, if the original engine was swaped out, I think the closest engine fitting there would be that of a ZIL-157, but its just my guess.

Gerd, you have done a good job by explaining to us the situation, well done.

Let me tell you all something as a representative from a Post-Soviet state(make some remarks):
- in 80% of the cases here the sellers of a soviet vehicle have no idea what to ask for it,so the turn there heads to there friends or today to the internet and find there some usually random USSR cars by a high prize, and then it all comes to a simple thing: Greed!
I don't say people should give there vehicles away for free, but you cant ask for a project more then a restored vehicle is?! Sometimes its hard to make a offer for a vehicle, because no one has any real idea how many of them are left these days! In my eyes every USSR vehicle is a pice of history and I would like to see them being preserved not junked or traded for common oldtimers from the west!

Im also not a expert on military vehicles but I have worked whit ZIL 157 engines and have some know-hows.
I assumed it would have been a logical swap in the old times.
But yes the ZIL 157 engine has 2 pistons less then the ZIS engine but they both came from the same factory.
In the 80s the ZIL 157 engine was still in production and it would have been not so hard to optaine for the ZIS 110. But then the question rises what kind of gearbox would have been use?! In my opinion the ZIL 157 engine is closer to that of a pre-war Studebaker the a ZIS engine.
A picture of a lately restored ZIL 157 engine, the alternator and the carburetor are that of the ZIL 130 and the air cleaner should be black instead of gray.

Thank you for the pictures Gerd,
But dose the VIN code/VIN tag 2010 mach the year 1956?
The licence plate UNIC022 was given out in the late 90s and eraly 2000. It dose not indicate the vehicle has been registered as a unic vehicle, its just a licence plate made by order.
All registered and acknowledged unic vehicles by the state carry since 2004 these numbers (they are also show conditioned vehicles with out exception)
