To see a bigger picture let us take a look eastwards. An old Soviet newsreel shows a Packard enclave behind the iron curtain.
Difficult to date. My best guess is the Moscow Conference on October 30, 1943.

This virtual tour goes to Gramatneusiedl, Austria, to a local museum and affiliated car rental.
Take a look at the body of this Packard with four bullseyes. The tail end construction of the red vehicle is of special interest.
If I read correctly the slip, attached to the window, then the car is for sale (?58,000).

The pictured Dutch ambulance is a great example of extensive conversion. Click to enlarge and take note of the door handle cup. Ross, your turn.
For getting a little bit background of Dutch ambulances go -> this way.

BTW Howard, fast reencounter with stick-out signal lights.
