WTB: Sheet Metal for 359 Straight 8

Looking for good sheet metal (oil pan, cam & tappet covers) for a 1954 359 Straight 8. I believe all 1950's 8's (288, 327/5, 327/9 and 359 are interchangeable).

Thanks!

Yes, they should all be the same.

Thanks Kev. I know the stroke is longer on the 359 but not sure if that would create a problem. The tin I now have is functional, but pretty badly pitted.

I'm still curious what was changed on the 54 oil pan to have them issue a new part number.

Baffle design perhaps?

Hi Howard,

Is the different part number for 1954 oilpan specific to the 359 cid, or applicable to the 288/327 as well?

Thanks,

John

All the large 7 qt oil pans from time they were introduced in 48 I think it was thru the 26th series are the same number and for all engines. In 54 they issued a new part number for oil pans that was applicable to all 54th. I was wondering if they might have done something for the increased stroke and just decided to use them across the board. Maybe Kev is right and it was just a baffle or something like that.
