For sale is a 288 CID straight 8 engine and ultramatic transmission that was removed from my vehicle approximately 18 months ago. The engine and transmission were in working order when removed. Both are in the original condition ie not rebuilt. The engine can be started on the stand if interested in seeing it run. I will separate engine/transmission if requested. The location is in Melbourne Australia.

G'day MelbournePackard,
to PackardInfo. See this thread on the AACA Site. The poster is after a 327 but a 288 may be OK. He is located in Bunbury WA, so a bit closer than the US where most PackardInfo members hail from. What's happened to the Packard the engine/trans came out of? Reason I ask is I'm a member of the Packard club here in Australia.

Hi Mal,

Thanks for the info I'll have to see if he's interested. In terms of the car I still have it but now it runs a Ford 351 Cleveland V8. I know its not original but can easily be changed back in this case.
