That looks exactly like a 54 Patrician that was in McKeesport, Pa. several years ago.

Seems to be a really nice Patrician for the money. Is it the same car you're talking about Randy? If so what do you know about it?

Thanks

I don't know if that's the same vehicle, but it is a twin. It was a very nice Patrician 30 years ago. Perhaps the owner can give us some history.

I forgot to ask but why do you guys think the engine studes are sticking up so far? I thought when the head was secured with all the nuts tightened that they were even with the top of each stud?

Do you guys think his price is in line with what he is selling?

My guess is that someone went out and bought simple stock commercial studs rather than the correct ones, and didn't bother to trim them the length. Whether such studs are really going to seal at the block and have the requisite strength and resistance to stretch remains to be seen. At least that's my feeling about it.

Not being willing to buy the correct studs or at least trim them to length might make one wonder what other actions might have been taken that are less than ideal.

In regard to the question about the head bolt studs, the original aluminum 359 head is thicker than the cast iron head that is on the car. The aluminum heads had the tendency to warp and there is a resurfaced cast iron head on the car which is thinner and makes the studs appear longer. The original aluminum head is included with the car. The studs are the originals.
